TOMAS HEIN : SCRNPRNT PORTRAITS

Tomas was chosen for distancing tactics for his singular use of photography as a means to analyze our reactions to photographic images.  The status of these images as factual information is one that interests him, he is currently working on a photo book entitled fiction that highlights the way text operates to inform and transform banal images into narratives through the imagination of the viewer.

The work displayed in WINDOWS204 comprises of two self portraits ( Tracey Emin and Andy Worhol ) these images, sourced from the internet have been transformed from small . JPG files to large screen prints.

In SCRNPRINT PORTRAITS, Hein is examining the contemporary phenomenon of images ( of artwork ) that are viewed online and the transformative nature of this method of viewing. He states 'in the age of the internet these images find themselves tripped of there context but more dramatically stripped of the attributes that make them real'

TOMAS HEINS work can be viewed until 6th march 2010
